6 b kap. 11 §: extendable up to the ceiling in 10 §.
Maximum total durationup to 3 years as of 2026-08-22[2][6]
6 b kap. 10 § andra stycket: three years combined for managers and specialists, ONE year for trainees. The field holds the higher figure because it governs the route's two larger categories; the trainee ceiling is stated here rather than dropped. Migrationsverket: once the maximum is reached the holder must leave the EU/EEA before a new ICT permit can be sought.
Work rightsemployment only as of 2026-08-22[2][6]
The permit exists for the intra-corporate transfer: the holder stays employed by the sending company outside the EEA and works for the host company in Sweden as manager, specialist or trainee.

Permanent residence and citizenship

Permanent residence and citizenship
Counts toward permanent residenceYes as of 2026-08-22[6]
Utlanningslag 5 kap. 5 § forsta stycket 4 counts a Swedish ICT permit toward the four-of-seven-years permanent permit. Worth reading against 6 b kap. 10 §: the route's own three-year ceiling means four years cannot be reached on ICT permits alone, so the counting matters only in combination with other permits.

Requirements

Requirements
Job offer requiredYes as of 2026-08-22[2][6]
6 b kap. 1 §: an employment contract with the sending company outside the EEA and Switzerland, plus – for trainees – a traineeship agreement for the Swedish placement. This is the 'minimum salary level for ICT permits' Migrationsverket's 1 June 2026 news item announced. It is a real floor with no single published figure – it is whatever the applicable agreement pays.

6 b kap. contains no labour-market condition of any kind.
Qualification requirementdegree, equivalent experience, regulated profession as of 2026-08-22[2][6]
