Identity

Identity
Official name (local)Trabajador Temporal as of 2023-11-14[1][6][7]
DL 1350 art. 29.1 lit. f names the calidad "Trabajador/Designado Temporal", a single lettered category covering two situations; Reglamento art. 75 carries the same combined heading and separates them in 75.1 (trabajador temporal) and 75.4 (designado temporal). The TUPA runs them as separate procedures under the separate names recorded here and on the sibling route pe-designado-temporal
Official name (English)Temporary worker status as of 2026-08-26[7]
Translation. MIGRACIONES publishes no official English name
Legal basisDecreto Legislativo 1350 art. 29.1 lit. f (as amended by Decreto Legislativo 1582); Reglamento aprobado por Decreto Supremo 007-2017-IN arts. 75.1 to 75.3 and 75.5 to 75.7 (as amended by Decreto Supremo 002-2021-IN), 75-A (application from abroad), 75-C (change of status in-country) and 75-E (extension of stay); Decreto Legislativo 689 as of 2023-11-14[1][4][6][7]
Instrument typenational visa as of 2026-08-26[6][7]
A temporary calidad migratoria: MIGRACIONES approves it and notifies the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which authorises the visa. It carries no carné de extranjería — that document belongs to residence calidades — and the TUPA charges no card fee on these procedures

Every temporary-calidad procedure in the TUPA carries the same absence-of-record condition as the residence procedures: no police, criminal or judicial record in the country of origin or in any country of residence before entry. The applicant files a certificate issued by the competent authority showing no judicial, criminal or police record in the country of origin and in any country of residence over the five years before arrival (Reglamento art. 88-A req. 4 and the parallel requirement in every other residence procedure), plus, where MIGRACIONES requires it, an Interpol Ficha de Canje (DL 1350 art. 26.2). Minors are exempt from the certificate on several procedures

Peru does not limit how many work permits it issues. It limits each employer: foreign nationals may be at most 20% of a company's workforce and at most 30% of its payroll. Several categories are exempt from those limits, including people married to a Peruvian and people covered by a labour agreement between Peru and their own country.
