Identity

Identity
Official name (local)Fast track-ordningen as of 2026-08-22[2]
Heading of the Danish-language edition of this route's own page on nyidanmark.dk, transcribed as published. The Aliens Act enumerates the grounds by section number and gives the permits no names of their own, so the authority's published Danish heading is the local name.
Official name (English)Fast-Track Scheme as of 2026-07-21[2]
Legal basisUdlaendingeloven (Aliens Act), LBK nr 1183 of 25 September 2025, section 9 a(2)(14), litra a-e; employer certification section 9 a(17)-(22); fine-free record condition for litra e section 9 a(33); extension condition section 9 a(14) as of 2026-07-21[2][5]
SIRI's scheme page cites no statutory section anywhere in its text. The identification is made from the consolidated Aliens Act's own wording: section 9 a(2) enumerates the employment and self-employment grounds as numbered items, and item 14 is a job at a company certified under section 9 a(18), where litra a pay meets the item 3 minimum, litra b work as a researcher under item 4, litra c a highly qualified educational stay, litra d a stay not exceeding 90 days per year, or litra e pay meets the item 13 minimum under the same unemployment and advertising conditions – which is this scheme's distinguishing condition as SIRI states it. Both sources are Tier-1 and describe the same rule; nothing is inferred from silence. The five litra correspond one to one with the five tracks SIRI names on the page – pay limit, researcher, educational, short-term and supplementary pay limit – and employer certification is the condition that distinguishes this ground from all the others.

Who can apply

Who can apply
Criminal-record conditionYes as of 2026-07-21[2][5]
On the supplementary pay limit track only: no fine of DKK 3,000 or more under the named Acts in the two years before applying, sworn declaration required. Aliens Act section 9 a(33). The other four tracks carry no such condition, so the field is true of the route only through one of its five tracks.

Permit terms

Permit terms
Initial durationRecorded at the source, but not reducible to a single value[2][5]
RenewableYes as of 2026-07-21[2]
On four of the five tracks. The short-term track cannot be extended; its 90 days may instead be divided into several stays, counted on a rolling 365-day calculation back from the first day of the permit, with entry and exit days both counted.
Work rightsown activity only as of 2026-07-21[2]
Only the job and the company the permit was granted for, but job content may change within the same company or university without a new work permit, as on the Pay Limit Scheme. A sideline job needs a separate permit except on the researcher track, where the holder is exempt from that requirement and may also be affiliated with further Danish universities and take external-examiner work. The scheme allows work both in Denmark and abroad. No right to work in other Schengen states.

Permanent residence and citizenship

Permanent residence and citizenship
Counts toward permanent residenceYes as of 2026-07-21[2][5][6]
Permanent residence requires eight years' uninterrupted legal residence held throughout on a permit under Aliens Act sections 7-9 f, 9 i-9 n, 9 p or 9 q (1) or (2), which the Immigration Service enumerates on its permanent-residence page. This route's permit is granted under section 9 a, which falls inside that range, so time on it counts. Whether the holder also meets the separate employment and supplementary conditions is a question about the individual, not about the route.

Requirements

Requirements
Job offer requiredYes as of 2026-07-21[2]
Salary threshold
    • Measured against: set by decree or programme rules
    • Amount: DKK 552,000 per year as of 2026-07-21[2][5]
Pay limit track (litra a): the item 3 figure, DKK 552,000 for 2026 against the statute's DKK 400,000 base. The Aliens Act states the base figure and section 9 a(29) provides for its annual indexation, so the statutory number and the figure actually applied in a given year differ by construction. SIRI publishes the applied figure. Basis is recorded 'administratively_fixed' because the amount is a bare statutory figure carried forward by indexation – it is not derived from a minimum wage, a collective agreement or a wage statistic, and the vocabulary's other four values all assert such a derivation.
    • Measured against: set by decree or programme rules
    • Amount: DKK 446,000 per year as of 2026-07-21[2][5]
Supplementary pay limit track (litra e): the item 13 figure, DKK 446,000 for 2026 against the statute's DKK 375,000 base. The researcher, educational and short-term tracks set no numeric threshold at all and are governed by the Danish-standards test alone – the salary_threshold array can hold two floors but has no way to say that three of the five tracks have none.
Labour-market testRecorded at the source, but not reducible to a single value[2][5]
Qualification requirementRecorded at the source, but not reducible to a single value[2]
Employer sponsorshipYes as of 2026-07-21[2][5]
The strongest employer condition of any Danish work scheme: the employer must be certified by SIRI under Aliens Act section 9 a(18), certification runs for a maximum of 4 years and can be revoked, and the employer submits the application. Without a certified employer there is no fast-track application to make.
Job-search routeNo as of 2026-07-21[2][3]
Not a job-search route. The 6-month job-seeking entitlement attaches to the pay limit, researcher and educational tracks and not to the supplementary pay limit track. The page's treatment of the short-term track is self-contradictory – one paragraph lists it among the tracks that qualify and the next states expressly that a job-seeking permit cannot be granted on it – and the contradiction is recorded rather than resolved; SIRI's job-seeking-permit page, the more specific source, omits the short-term track.

Process

Process
Where to apply fromeither as of 2026-07-21[2][5]
Aliens Act section 9 a(5). The scheme's distinguishing procedural feature is Quick Job Start: a visa-free applicant can begin work on a provisionary permit at the earliest the day after the employer submits the application, and SIRI aims to decide a visa-required applicant's case in about 10 days. Both depend on citizen-centre opening hours and appointment availability, which are operational rather than legal conditions. The application is submitted by the employer, with the applicant granting a power of attorney; AR1 is available where the applicant does not wish to.
Observed processing time1 to 2 months as of 2026-07-21[2]
Normal 1 month, up to 2 months where further information is needed – except on the supplementary pay limit track, where SIRI publishes 2 months rising to 4. The page's 'Quick job start normally takes' field renders blank.
Fees
    • Kind: application
    • Amount: DKK 6,810 as of 2026-07-21[2]
    • Charged per: application
    • Paid by: applicant
    • Condition: Sole Tier-1 publisher (SIRI). Same fee on all five tracks.

Family inclusion
Family members may be includedYes as of 2026-07-23[1][2]
Eligible relationsspouse, registered partner, unmarried partner, minor child as of 2026-07-23[1][2]
Spouse, registered or cohabiting partner, and children under 18 living at home. SIRI's accompanying-family page adds the conditions the scheme page does not state: the family member must live at the same address as the sponsor, a cohabiting partner needs 1.5-2 years of documented cohabitation, and one case order ID, one fee and one application form are required per family member. Family members of a fast-track holder are exempt from the lapse rules on the same terms as the principal: they may give up their Danish address and stay abroad for more than 6 successive months.
